Our exposition „The Bulgarian National Revival” is arranged in one of the most beautiful and famous houses within The Old Town of Plovdiv – the house of Dimitar Georgiadi, a cultural monument of national importance. The building is a typical representative of The Bulgarian National Revival period. It has a lovely inner courtyard, ground floor and 3 over-ground storeys, wall trappings of different colours, wood-carving ceiling and decorative niches called “alafrangi”. „The Bulgarian National Revival” Exposition traces back the history of Plovdiv in the period XV-XIX century. Visitors are able to touch and be absorbed into the atmosphere of the remote past of the town which was a time of foreign rule, but also a time of preservation of the national identity of the Bulgarian people.
