Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum

A very unusual survivor from our Victorian Industrial past the museum is based in the only remaining steam driven brickworks in the UK. All the original machinery is in place (and works) and the buildings which housed the production. The main display shows how the early industrialisation of brickmaking started - Bursledon Brickworks were making 20 million bricks a year when in full production.
There are also displays showing earlier methods of making bricks, a large archive of bricks and clay building materials.
Visitors can also try making a brick themselves.
