The Tropenmuseum is one of Europe’s leading ethnographic museums, renowned for its collection. The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures.
The beautiful historic building that houses the Tropenmuseum provides space for eight permanent exhibitions and an ongoing series of temporary exhibitions, including both modern and traditional visual arts and photographic work. The permanent exhibitions are Southeast Asia, Oceania, Western Asia and North Africa, Africa, Latin America, and Music, Dance and Theater.
Tropenmuseum Junior is the children's museum housed within the Tropenmuseum. The museum primarily targets children aged 6 to 13. The exhibitions, offering immersive experiences, are aimed at making children curious and open to different cultures. Every three years Tropenmuseum Junior creates a new interactive exhibition.
Tropenmuseum Junior is currently running the exhibition MixMax Brasil, aimed at children and their families. In MixMax Brasil our Brazilian museum staff will guide you through the exhibition.
