Ugo Dossi: Signs and Miracles

Ugo Dossi's large-size and colourful tableaux, sculptures, projections and virtual realities (VR) circle around signs thet both point at the world and mean "world". The exhibition "Signs and Miracles" draws a line between archetypical images from early advances civilisations and a virtual future in the metaverse. The creations with their minimal sybolic and image-based language thus create visual riddles of exceptional beauty.

Many of his works are influenced by Dossi's fascination with ancient Egyptian art. The exhibition is therefore the perfect supplement to our popular permanent exhibition "Egypt - Country of Immortality" and adds a contemporary perspective. A small selection of his work is also shown next to the original Egyptian artefacts in the museum.

Ugo Dossi studied at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich and Accademia di Brera in Milan. Er lives and works in Munich, Murnau, and in his atelier in the Italian Dolomites. His work has previously been shown twice at Documenta, twice at Venice Biennale and in various international museums.
