#weRallbananas

#weRallbananas, presents outcomes of a partnership with Middlesbrough-based film-maker Laura Degnan, who was Leverhulme Artist in Residence at the Mental Health Research Centre, Durham University throughout 2015, and mental heath group, Youth Speak.

The display consists of a film and photographs associated with the #weRallbananas campaign, paying tribute to the daily battle on and around mental health.

Youth Speak and Degnan invited the public to write advice onto a banana and share an image of it on social media, creating the#weRallbananas campaign.

Youth Speak is a group organised by young people whose activities aim to raise awareness and combat the stigmas often associated with mental health. During 2015 Youth Speak partnered with the Middlesbrough-based film-maker Laura Degnan to develop a series of positive visual representations of mental health with and for young people.
