The Sun Lates

Join us on Wednesday 28 November at Lates for a much-needed dose of Vitamin D. Inspired by our latest blockbuster exhibition The Sun: Living With Our Star, warm up with a night at the museum that will explore the science of all things solar. Find out more about how the sun works and the danger posed by solar storms with broadcasters Professor Lucie Green and Maggie Aderin Pocock, discover how we could create a second Sun on Earth and learn how to become a solargrapher. Discover how the Sun has influenced our health throughout history with author Vybar Cregan-Reid, meet the engineering experts behind the Zephyr aircraft and listen to a live performance by musician Glenneth, inspired by the movement of the Sun across the sky. All this and much more, including the chance to go on a virtual journey that is out of this world in Space Descent VR with Tim Peake before throwing some shapes at our famous intergalactic silent disco.
