Fort Nelson and The Great War
Step back in time to 1915 and follow the ‘ghosts’ from Fort Nelson’s past as they re-create scenes depicting the Fort’s role as a training and transit camp in the Great War.
Join in a variety of activities, learn marching drills and how to fight with rifle and bayonet.
Enjoy set-piece performances around the Fort which will bring to life elements of a soldier’s daily life while at the training camp; the joys of getting a treat box from home and enjoying midnight feasts, as well as the less appealing nature of washing in the ablutions.
