Local artist, Walter Spradbery (1889 – 1969), is best known for his London Transport poster designs. This exhibition explores lesser known aspects of his life: his commitment to pacifism; his work in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the First World War; the musical and artistic events he held for the community at his home in Buckhurst Hill and his role in establishing centres for people to enjoy art. This exhibition also marks the centenary of the end of the First World War.
