To celebrate the International Museum Day, the Palace Museum’s Publicity and Education Department plans and organizes various events on and around 18 May.
The Palace Museum has built close cooperation with many primary and middle schools to develop a variety of educational programmes, which enables students to acquire cultural knowledge and explore the history in a more interesting way to better understand China’s great history and culture.
On 18 May, the Palace Museum will welcome students from Shuangyushu Primary School, who are divided into seven groups, to participate different events and activities. Some students will have guided-tours in different routes, and some will make their own cultural products, for example, the “Eight-Banner Soldiers” pen container, DIY “porcelain bottles” with traditional patterns, and imperial costumes in Qing court.
Venue: The Learning Center at the Palace Museum (near the Meridian Gate), Beijing, China
