Bring Some Music to the PM: Traditional Chinese Folk Music Performance

To celebrate the International Museum Day, the Palace Museum’s Publicity and Education Department plans and organizes various events on and around 18 May.

Since 2012, The Palace Museum has cooperated with the National Centre of the Performing Arts (NCPA) for six years in a row to hold a traditional Chinese folk music performance on every International Museum Day (18 May).

During the performance, the audience will feel the charm of traditional Chinese instruments including pipa, erhu (Chinse 2-string fiddle), bamboo flute, suona horn, etc. This event aims at spreading the knowledge on Chinese folk music to the public and leading them to the world of traditional Chinese culture.

Venue: the square in front of the Treasure Gallery (Palace of Tranquil Longevity), the Palace Museum, Beijing, China.
