Celebrating IMD 2018: Educational activities!

The International Museums Day is also celebrated at the Navarino Natura Hall, the environmental museum at Costa Navarino. On May 10th, Kyparissia High School (150 students) participated in educational activities and discovered the Messinian flora & fauna. The majority of students attended the educational activity "Learning and promoting the environment of Messinia" at Navarino Natura Hall. The activity is designed by TEMES-Developers of Costa Navarino and the University of Peloponnese. Students followed an interactive guided tour, learned about the region’s rich flora and fauna, participated in brainstorming activities and watched experiments implemented by trained staff. Other students participated at the Educational program "Promoting the quality of Olive Oil through sensory analysis", an initiative designed by "Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos" Foundation with the support of the Technological Educational Institue (TEI) of Peloponnese. The aim of the program is to teach students how to link the quality of olive oil with all life stages of the olive tree and olives. Particular emphasis was given to the use of the sensory organs as a tool that provides reliable information.
