The ‘Cornish Sky-Disc’

This project workshop is open to all, with an aim to create a colourful and striking collaborative community arts piece. The inspiration for this artwork is the Nebra Sky-Disc, a 3600 year old Bronze Age artefact which is described as ‘one of the most important archaeological finds of the past century.’ The disc is made of Copper from the Swiss Alps, and gold and tin from Cornwall, which shows the age old connection the county has had with the continent. The Cornish Sky-Disc project aims to raise awareness of this rich historical and multi-cultural heritage and to show the importance of celebrating diversity in Cornwall.
