To celebrate International Museum Day, entry is free all day to the Museum of Tropical Queensland on Friday 18 May. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the Museum and take advantage of a full program of tours, talks and activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to join Senior Curator, Palaeontology Dr Espen Knutsen for a talk on his search for ancient sea monsters in the Arctic, go on a back of house tour to view never-before-seen objects in the Collection Store or hear the stories behind the expeditions to the Pandora shipwreck and the mission to retrieve its priceless artefacts. Kids will be well looked after with craft activities all day, and a special Beau’s Buddies session for those six and under at 9.45am.
