Anglo-Saxon Shields

Family Drop-in Thursday 31 May, 10-11am Make your own Anglo-Saxon Shield at this exciting and arty drop-in event. The main defensive item of the Anglo-Saxon warrior was the shield. The Anglo-Saxon shield was made from wood and covered with leather or heavy cloth, with an iron boss in the centre. Some of the shields were beautifully decorated with ornate metal foils and studs or by painting. Create your own design and be just like an Anglo-Saxon warrior. Suitable for age 5 and above.
