As a special event for International Museums Day on Friday 18 May we’re offering a unique opportunity to see one of the objects from our approaching exhibition Gold Rush: 20 Objects, 20 Stories before it goes on display. For this event only we will allow close access to one of our lovely 1850s costumes. Historian Margaret Anderson will talk about the dress and about what it might have been like to make, wear and care for such a dress. This is a rare opportunity to see an historic item up close and to see its intricate construction first hand.
Limited seating is available for this lecture, however, for the first time in Old Treasury Building history, this exciting FREE talk will be broadcast live via Facebook!
