AN ЕXCITING TOUCH TO THE HERITAGE OF THE MIDDLE RHODOPES

Established in 1935, the Regional Museum of History in Smolyan is the largest museum which has stored the material traces keeping the memory for the population that inhabited the central part of the Rhodopes area during various historical times. Over the years the museum has accumulated rich and varied collections, totalling over 150 thousand units in the main, auxiliary and exchange collections.

Through its unique collections showing the cultural diversity and thousand-long traditions, through its research and popularization resources, through the creation of a network of successful partnerships, the Museum has been contributing to the spiritual enrichment of society, inspiring it to seek for its roots and to learn about different cultures.
