The Head of Augustus

As part of the BBC Civilisations Festival the VG&M are borrowing this incredible object from the British Museum. This remarkable object was excavated by the University’s John Garstang in 1910 and this exhibition is the first time it has been back in Liverpool since its re-discovery.
