Far East prisoner-of-war memoirs
This talk will consider the memoirs of British prisoners of war of the Japanese - known as Far East Prisoners of War (FEPOWs) - and how their recollections may have been reshaped and distorted over time.
Lauren Cantillon presents evidence to suggest that the individual memory of many FEPOWs was eventually submerged by a 'collective' memory.
