Join Textile Conservator Sarah Howard as she delves into the only surviving ledger of George and Benjamin Ferrey, tailors in the seaside market town of Christchurch at the turn of the 19th century. From these fascinating and illuminating accounts, she will shed light on the fabrics, styles and costs of garments, as well as the often-colourful background of their clientele. Sarah Howard BA, PGDipTexCons, ACR is a freelance Conservation Consultant and Textile Conservator who works for a variety of museums and heritage organisations offering advice, support and practical conservation treatments.
