Abbey 900 Art Exhibition

Cirencester College Students Curated by Peter Evans 1 June – 25 June First and second year Art and Design students collaborate to produce an exhibition in celebration of Abbey 900. The unwary Corinium Museum visitor will be confronted with an installation of repurposed shop mannequins taking their inspiration for historical research and theatrical costume from the likes of the fantasy of Baron Munchausen, the characterisations from Blackadder and the novelty and invention from Steampunk to bring an awareness and interest in history to a younger (and older!) audience. Art, as in many disciplines, continues to grow – feeding from an admiration of the past and re-interpreted by creative individuals who discover contemporary links to make the past relevant for today Free admission
