Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

An introduction to tapestry weaving, using the colours and forms of the work of abstract artists such as Victor Pasmore as inspiration to create a small woven tapestry. Working on pre-warped frames, investigate basic warp and weft structures and explore basic weaving techniques such as colour work, shaping and surface decoration. Materials and equipment including frames, clamps, scissors and bobbins will be provided. There will be an opportunity to buy equipment to take home at the end of the session.
