Lancelot “Capability” Brown began work on Harewood’s landscape in 1776. It took five years to transform the parkland from agricultural fields to the picturesque views you can see today. Referring to Harewood’s records, this display will explore the evolution of the landscape, investigating the genius behind England’s greatest gardener. Learn about the characteristics of a Brownian parkland and what made his work so pioneering.
