Predynastic tall vase from Tarkhan, marked in pencil - 9. 204mm high. This is the last in the line of wavy handled jars put in sequence by Petrie. William Matthew Flinders Petrie was the first to outline the chronology of these vessels following his excavations in the 1890s. Petrie stated that the first type were imports from Palestine.
