Pair of Vases and Covers or 'Pilgrim Bottles', Chelsea, 1758-74 Flattened pear shape. Decorated with a claret ground and reserves on one side of polychrome musicians and on the other side with reserves of purple monochrome with a green wash of European river landscape. Mark: Gold anchor to both. Provenance: Lady Ludlow Collection (gift of the National Art Collections Fund) Size: Height: 18.1 cm; 18.4 cm. (with cover) 24.7 cm; 24.7 cm.
