The clothplate is steel and raised above the structure of the machine. The chain stitch is created by a rotating hook. A small metal plaque is attached to the base and is inscribed 'GRAIN'. , , , , Inscription: (plaque on base) GRAIN, , Inscription: (on wheel) GRAIN, , , , Maker: Grain ?, , Date: 1940s ?, , , , Dimensions: 200mm high x 225mm long x 150mm wide, , , , Condition: EXCELLENT. The mechanism still turns but is missing its needle. Not sure if green is the original colour.
