This Spring/Summer outfit is from the 1996 collection featured in Directory 17. The stripy, ribbed cotton sweater has been a favourite spring garment since Chanel made them popular during the 1920s. Based on Breton sailors' jumpers, the stripy top has become a fashion classic. This season saw the top made longer and tighter and was featured with narrow-legged trousers as well as this flared, floral print skirt.
