Tapestry depicting Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns, designed by Archie Brennan of the Edinburgh Tapestry Company and woven at the Dovecote Studios, Corstorphine, 1971.
The tapestry was commissioned for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott in 1971; for this reason, Scott is more prominent than Burns or Stevenson.
The tapestry is computer designed, the images of the three writers built up in squares of different colours of wool.
