Set of three clothes brushes, that hang from a wooden plaque with a mirror set in it. Typically found in hallways of houses or near the front door, to clean clothes before leaving the house. This appears to be 1930s to 1950s in style. Overall height 317mm, width 220mm. It belonged to the Donor's grandparents, , The Donor's grandparents, David Thomas Blake and Mary Blake. They lived in Westleigh Gardens, Edgewear, London. Mary was born in 1887. David was was an engineer for London transport, Mary also worked on London Transport which is where they met. They originally lived where Victoria Bus station is, but were relocated when this was built. Mary moved to live with the family in Newcastle in the 1960s.
