The Cyprus Museum- Rooms V and VI

Rooms V and VI are dedicated to Cypriot sculpture dating from the Cypro-Archaic to the Late Roman period. Major highlights are a clay colossal terracotta statue from Tamasos; two female statues from a sanctuary at Arsos, both holding a small votive bull and wearing multiple necklaces; a group of three impressive lions and two sphinxes dating from the 6^th century BC from the archaeological site of Tamassos, one of the richest kingdoms of Cyprus; a beautiful female head from the Hellenistic sanctuary of Aphrodite at Arsos; the famous 4th century BC marble head of Aphrodite from Salamis, and the famous 1^st century BC marble statue of Aphrodite of Soloi. Room VI is dominated by the larger than life-size, nude, bronze statue of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus.
