The links between Brangelina, Victoria Beckham and AFC Bournemouth might not be immediately clear without the knowledge that all three parties own a painting by Dom Pattinson.

Describing his influences as propaganda art in Russia and the raw street sprawls of young Sinn Fein activists in Northern Ireland, Pattinson’s portrait of a girl in a raincoat, holding a pink-petalled balloon, was gifted to Pitt and Jolie as a wedding present by fellow megastar George Clooney.

More recently, Liam Gallagher and Davina McCall are said to have made acquisitions from the artist. And in his first UK solo exhibition in a year, at Bournemouth’s Westover Gallery, Pattinson will also put on show Barbed Wire Love, in which two grimacing boys clutch a heart made from barbed wire – a previously unseen work given to Beckham following her humanitarian speech at the UN last year.
