Photographer Ryan Schude’s first book is a masterclass in colour. It includes a whimsical series of LA inhabitants with their cars and wacky portraits of people at home – replete with spaghetti shoelaces, fish in toilet basins and battered tropical fruit.

A riotous celebration of pop Americana, the book contains the full range of his work, from vast tableaus to more intimate portraits, alongside detailed commentary by Schude himself.

While in business school, Schude joined a photography club and never looked back.

The book includes Schude’s most iconic works - enormous, meticulously-crafted tableaus where every element in the frame contributes to a seemingly-chaotic overall narrative.

Schude includes a forward by Zac Pennington (Vice, The Quietus) and an introduction by Davy Rothbart (GQ, This American Life, New York Magazine).
