Registration now open for OpenCulture 2014 with offers for Early Birds and smaller museums

Online registration has opened for OpenCulture 2014, Collections Trust’s flagship event, which will be presented at the Kia Oval in London on 25-26 June. Early Bird rates are available until 30 April, and special fees have been introduced for smaller museums. Book now at www.openculture2014.org.uk.

To help delegates from smaller museums with annual revenue of less than £500,000 to attend OpenCulture, a special new discounted rate offers a further 20% reduction on Early Bird fees. This recognises their limited budgets and provides exceptional value for money.

Delegates rated last year’s OpenCulture 100% Good to Excellent. Building on this success, new features are being introduced this year so the event is even bigger and better. A cutting-edge conference programme is under development and will include both keynote presentations and streamed sessions which focus on essential skills, including museum and collections management, and digital and risk management.

In addition, the highly-successful Project Update sessions introduced in 2013 will be expanded, and workshops will complement the main programme. Presentations by suppliers in the exhibition area are another innovation to add extra value for attendees.

The OpenCulture exhibition is selling strongly, with more than 50% of its expanded space already booked or reserved. However, some prime sites are still available, and full details are available from Events Manager, Lucy Douglas at lucy@collectionstrust.org.uk.

Adding even more value to OpenCulture 2014 is an expanded SPECTRUM Community Meeting, which will be run as a half-day on the afternoon of Tuesday 24 June. It will celebrate a year of success for SPECTRUM and provide a discussion forum for new SPECTRUM developments including data, procedures and a SPECTRUM 5 Roadmap and timeline.

As in previous years, the Collections Trust Awards for excellence in collections management will be presented during the official conference reception, and further details will be announced shortly.

Information about the collections community’s Event of the Year and all the latest updates are available on its website site at www.openculture2014.org.uk.
