Mausoleum of Allah-Allah

Mausoleum of Allah-Allah
Barda Mausoleum, which is one of the rare architectural examples of Azerbaijani culture, was built in 1322 by Ahmed ibn Ayyub Hafiz, a representative of the Ajam school of architecture.
Mausoleum - got its name from the word "Allah", repeated more than 200 times. The above-ground part is formed by three main architectural structures: a stone bench, a round body and a tent dome. The most dynamic part of the round structure is the portals located in the northern and southern parts
In the 1960s, the restoration of the Barda Mausoleum, abandoned for many years, began. As a result of improper restoration work, the appearance of the mausoleum changed, the inscriptions were erased, and the heavy concrete structure installed on it led to the formation of cracks. The restoration of the mausoleum began in 2012 and was fully completed in 2018. The destroyed dome of the mausoleum, installed from concrete, was completely dismantled and re-faced with chestnut brick. The restoration works were carried out by the Scientific Research Project Institute "Azerbarpa" on the order of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The opening of the Mausoleum took place on March 25, 2018
